For this project I buried myself in the archives of the New York Public Library, New York Historical Society, and private collections.
New York has been in a flux of change from the very first day. Many photographers tried to capture this change — and so many of them have long been buried in the archives of cultural institutions and private collectors. This project grew out of curiosity to uncover the everyday life of the city — going through the archives and picking street scenes, architectural details, and familiar corners to understand how the city has changed through time.
