Asutralia (Surf Club) 1936 Poster

$22$48

Gert Sellheim (1901-1970) came to Australia from Germany in the 1920s as a trained architect. When Sellheim couldn’t find work, he took up poster art. The artist’s most famous work is his 1947 design of Qantas airlines’ flying kangaroo logo. His posters are now among the most collectable in the travel poster field. Sellheim’s sunny color palette and simple design are quite befitting of Australia’s essence.
