$22$48

In 1962, Tony Bennett “Left His Heart in San Francisco,” and it’s no wonder why looking at this dreamy TWA advertising piece from just a few years earlier. Attributed to superb American illustrator David Klein, the poster is the perfect homage to the The City by the Bay, with its iconic Golden Gate Bridge, soft hills, and clanking cable cars. Klein’s work for the airline during the 1950s and 60s has always been sought after by collectors, but his appeal has sky-rocketed with the renewed interest in all things “mod,” apparent by the huge success of AMC’s Mad Men.
