LOCARNO (Suisse – Swiss Riviera – Schweiz) 1944 Poster

Located in the Italian-speaking Swiss Canton of Ticino on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Locarno has an uncharacteristically warm and sunny climate that allows for the growth of exotic, palm trees, cacti, and bougainvilleas. From the 1920s until after the Second World War, Daniele Buzzi, who lived in Locarno, designed posters to promote his city and the entire Ticino canton.
